View Toward Entry
The vertical brick masonry at the center of the design anchors the horizontal elements into a pyramidal composition. The planters and entry terrace are also important design elements. From the opposite side the home appears to be one story (see "View from Below")
A handrail is visible at the top of the brick "tower" where an observation deck is located. It is accessible by suspended stairs from the second floor balcony.
The two-story entry is centrally located to give access to all the main rooms. The kitchen, family room and garage are to the right, while the bedroom wing is to the left. The living room is on the opposite side.
The roof is standing-seam sheet metal with a factory finish. The dark "weathered copper" color of the roof was chosen to compliment the brickwork, and it is also used for the windows, doors, trim and even the living room couch.
