Due to the many large trees to the south of the house, the solar panels for the pool and for the domestic hot water were positioned on the steep sloped roof seen on the right in this photograph. A solar engineer determined the most efficient angle for the panels and that limitation determined to a great extent the unusual shape of the roof.
