Form or Function? Dr. Myers, the original owner, asked for an upper level Great Room with a central fireplace and surrounded by glass. This I accomplished with the large hexagon composed of six bays to divide the functions and frame the views. So far, so good. But the two-story hexagon had to somehow be balanced into a composition. This was accomplished by designing the study and guest bedroom in the form of two smaller hexagons to reflect the larger one. The entire design was then unified with the surrounding balcony.
