Since my first home was essentially a one-man project from beginning to end, I was baptised into the various trades rather suddenly. A successful businessman once told me, "never hire a man whose job you can't do yourself," and certainly my experience in the field with the tools has proved to be invaluable in my design work. Of course the REAL reason is that I love to build.
