DINING ROOM

The dining room is centrally located and is directly accessible to the living room, entry, kitchen, back patio, and bedroom hallway, and it was not only physically the center of the house, but also was the center of family activities.  The table is attached to the wall at one end and has only a single leg. In keeping with the triangular theme I constructed 3-legged chairs which would not rock on the uneven stone floors; however, they were not practical for young children who often ended up clattering to the floor. Since at one time there were six children in my family, we substituted a bench for use by the younger children and had a rule the older children must keep both feet on the floor when seated!
