This is a small but solid kitchen. The walls are mostly stone and both the ceiling and the floor are poured concrete. I have happy memories of building the barbecue shown here; it is said we remember moments, and I remember one such moment when all the necessary tools and materials were at hand, classical music was playing, the birds were singing (the kitchen was still outdoors), a book of poetry was opened to a favorite poem, and the smell of fresh mortar mingled with the morning air..........
